When I think of sweetness, I think of Aimee and Kenny, and their beautiful rustic Hudson Valley wedding day. The day flowed from important childhood spaces - their homes, their church - into a new chapter of life, their incredible marriage, together.
THE COUPLE
When I photographed Aimee and Kenny’s engagement session several months before their wedding, Kenny pulled me aside at one point to tell me how incredible Aimee is. How intelligent and kind she is. How wonderful and accomplished. How he admires her deeply. How he just thinks she is the best.
That’s the way of Aimee and Kenny’s love: always assuming and expecting the best from each other while still warmly cheering each other on.
THE VENUE
Aimee and Kenny got married in a church ceremony at St Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill, and then hosted their reception at Tilly’s Table in Brewster, NY. St Mary’s is a lovely place to have a wedding ceremony - it is a beautiful space, open and fairly bright. Tilly’s Table has gorgeous grounds to take photos, especially during golden hour.
THE DETAILS
Aimee and Kenny chose a burgundy and navy color scheme for their wedding, which always photographs so beautifully - the colors are so rich, they just seem to jump out of photos! They also chose to honor their love of their dogs by donating to Everyday Heroes Dog Rescue in lieu of favors, and incorporated their pups anywhere and everywhere they could - including with their wedding cake topper.
THE RECEPTION
Aimee and Kenny’s reception was just beautiful. All of the joy, all of the hugs, all of the dancing. The dancefloor was PACKED for most of the evening, and it was just an absolute pleasure to document.
Aimee and Kenny, you are warmth and goodness personified.
