I like to say that some of your favorite memories become mine, too, and when I think back on Kelly and John’s wedding day at Pleasantly Devine Stables, I can vividly remember my favorite moment: standing on the loft in the barn, photographing the happiest little dance party during the reception, big smiles and streamers included.
THE COUPLE
Kelly and John have the type of love story that you read about in story books. They were together when they were young, took a break from each other, and then came back together as adults. Their love feels effortless and homey, like the romance you see between old souls in movie flashbacks. They love to spend time outdoors as a family, with each other and their children.
THE VENUE
Pleasantly Devine Stables in Rock Tavern, NY, is an absolute gem of a venue. It is owned and operated by the most amazing family, and one of the owners (also named Kelly!) serves as the coordinator on wedding days. She is incredible at what she does, and such a joy to be around.
Pleasantly Devine Stables is amazing in all it offers - a beautiful woodland location for outdoor ceremonies, gorgeous grounds for photos (including an incredible pond!), an easily accessible overlook for golden hour when the weather is nice, and a stunning barn. The Hudson Valley has no shortage of rustic wedding venues, but Pleasantly Devine Stables is one that feels a little more special than the rest.
You and your wedding party can also rent a home on site to use for your wedding weekend.
THE DETAILS
Kelly and John chose simple natural details to decorate their day. Their tables were adorned with greenery and wildflowers. Their wedding party wore shades of rose, navy, and gray. And this wedding party was happy. You could tell in every interaction with Kelly and John how much they loved celebrating these dear souls.
Kelly and John’s children were also included in their celebration in every way possible - one of the best details you could ever choose, if you ask me.
THE RECEPTION
Kelly and John’s reception was all warmth and celebration. It was a full dancefloor, twirling dresses, full cups. Kelly also changed into a second gown for the reception - a dress that was beautifully detailed with beading and sequins. Every moment of this reception was a true party; it felt like they were celebrating a full life together, rather than just this one day.
What perfection this day was.
