When I think back on my journey with Erika + Aaron, all I can think of is: all joy and pure heart. Erika’s smile is contagious, and her sweet spirit is infectious. Aaron’s kindness feels like a warm hug whenever you’re around him. Being in their presence feels like a privilege. They are an excellent match.

We photographed their engagement session in the snow, and their wedding in the rain, and the warmth they naturally exude never dampened. 💕

THE COUPLE

When Erika + Aaron told me they wanted to work with me for their wedding, saying I was excited was an understatement. They are such intentional humans that I knew that being a part of their day wouldn’t only be a joy to photograph, but a precious gift.

For their wedding, they infused as much of their faith as they possibly could into the day. From their friends and family praying over them when they were getting ready to the foot washing ritual they shared during their ceremony, their faith was not an afterthought for their wedding day, but an anchor. And I think that is a beautiful thing to consider, no matter what faith or sense of spirituality you resonate with.

THE VENUE

West Hills Country Club in Middletown, NY is what I would consider a perfect venue. From the amazing staff to the great food to the gorgeous location (you can’t go wrong hosting a wedding on a golf course like this one with SO many different options for photo locations - even on a rainy wedding day like Erika + Aaron’s), it is truly a gem of a venue.

Their staff is so wonderful that I feel like I have friends there - and I know that many of my couples who get married there feel the same.

THE DETAILS

It’s not a usual occurrence that I photograph a wedding on a Tuesday, but I am 110% on #teamtuesdayweddings after Erika + Aaron’s beautiful wedding day.

Erika’s gown was an Oleg Cassini masterpiece, with more blush tones than white, and the pure whimsy of it made me giddy when photographing her in it. Aaron’s attire was THE most dapper suit, and when matched with Erika - they were a sight to behold.

They allowed Erika’s gown to influence the color scheme of the day, choosing warm pink and coral florals, and other pink and blush details to round out the theme of the day.

THE RECEPTION

Tuesday weddings CAN feel just like Saturday ones when you have a group of guests who are as fun and ready to dance as Erika + Aaron’s were. The way the dance floor filled as soon as it opened was so enjoyable to witness, and the smoke machine that enveloped Erika + Aaron for their first dance was a nice touch, especially for photos.

Like most wedding days, I look back on this one fondly. And I hope that more clientfriends join #teamtuesdayweddings who are just as lovely as Erika + Aaron.
