When I opened up Jena and Pierce’s Hollow Brook Golf Club wedding gallery to start this blog post, I couldn’t help but smile. This adorable couple had THE best day, and I remember it so vividly. The perfect weather. The absolute joy. The excitement that could barely be contained. The way Jena and I giggled like old friends.

It’s my hope and dream that every wedding day feels like Jena and Pierce’s - light, free, vibrant, and full.

THE COUPLE

Jena and Pierce went to high school together, but didn’t start dating until after college - and then were inseparable for 8 years before they made the leap into marriage. When I first met them, they had just bought their house, were knee-deep in home renovations, and had their precious dog Bailey.

The way Jena and Pierce are together feels effortless. They are so different, but so in sync with each other. For all of Pierce’s quiet demeanor, Jena is outgoing. For all of Jena’s energy, Pierce is steadfast in his emotions (until you get him on the dance floor; then he is all gas and no brake 🤣).

Spending time with Jena and Pierce on their wedding day felt like a gift.

THE VENUE

My blog, in general, is somewhat of a love letter towards Hollow Brook Golf Club. I have photographed so many weddings there - none of them have ever disappointed, and all of them have had different and varied galleries because of all of the options for photos there. One of the kindest things that Hollow Brook does is drive their couple and vendors out on the golf course for photos. It’s a small gesture, but it makes everyone involved feel so cared for. And, if you’re the couple, they’ll even make sure you have a cozy blanket on days when the weather is less than ideal, as well as your favorite cocktail.

THE DETAILS

Jena and Pierce’s wedding was classic and classy, with an elegant black and white color theme. The florals were all white, the gowns were black, and the suits were a dark gray. Everyone feels and looks good in these shades, so I feel that it is always a good choice when couples go with this motif for their weddings.

Jena wore one of my very favorite dresses ever. It was elegant, but also felt fun - just like her. The drop sleeves and long train were a dream to photograph in the greenery that Hollow Brook Golf Club offers for photos.

THE RECEPTION

Jena and Pierce had the kind of reception that is pure fun to photograph - all party vibes, friends, and romance wrapped up in dancing. And, my second photographer and I even got to take a cute photo with them at the end of the night - we experienced that much delight in them on their big day.

Jena and Pierce, thank you for just being the absolute best - a kind of best I don’t think I will ever find the right words to describe. 💛
