Something that I deeply value when working with my clients is their sense of kindness…and Caroline and Vince were the epitome of that. They are unfailingly kind and considerate of everyone around them, thoughtful in all the right ways. When we first met each other in person for their engagement session, we actually had gifts for each other - theirs to me, a set of The Office-themed coffee mugs; mine to them, a couple of branded rice krispie treats from Samuel’s Sweet Shop in Rhinebeck, NY. Working with Caroline and Vince for their Hollow Brook Golf Club wedding felt like a whole 8 hours of just hanging out with good friends.

THE COUPLE

Caroline and Vince are THE cutest people, no joke. They are complimentary, affirming, and giggle easily. They’re a good pair, balancing each other well. They love baseball, and One Tree Hill (a couple after my own heart!). The way they speak to each other is so soft and sweet, you’d think that language like theirs only happens in books and fairytales - but, it’s not fake; it’s real in the best way.

THE VENUE

Hollow Brook Golf Club in Cortlandt Manor, NY, is incredible for what it brings to the table as a venue. Cozy (but not small) reception space. Delicious food. Beautiful and many outdoor locations for photos. Incredible wedding coordination.

Fall at Hollow Brook is absolutely stunning, as its foliage explodes with so much color, you can’t help but capture it in just about every single image on the golf course.

THE DETAILS

Getting married in the fall, Caroline and Vince chose a warm and jewel-toned aesthetic for their wedding, embracing sunflower yellows, burgundies, and navy blues for their attire and decor. Their wedding party wore dark blue and gray, while holding rich, autumn-themed florals. Their tablescapes embraced candlelight and sunflowers. It was gorgeous all around.

THE RECEPTION

Like them, Caroline and Vince’s reception was so cute. Their first dance was incredibly precious, and their dance floor was packed as soon as it was opened. Their toasts were heartfelt and kind, and it was evident how much they were loved by all.

Caroline and Vince’s wedding felt like the kind of warmth you feel when you’re apple picking, and the sun peeks out behind the clouds. It was just the most endearing and adorable day with people who are just as endearing and adorable as the wedding they hosted.

FROM THE COUPLE

“As soon as I saw Erica’s page, I knew I wanted to work with her. Seeing the diversity and inclusivity featured on her site in a way that didn’t seem like it was for show was something that was very important to me. I have members of my immediate and extended family, as well as my bridal party, that are part of the LGBTQ community, and having them be comfortable at my wedding, especially for pictures, was a priority for me. The language used on her site was amazing to see.

Also, Erica’s pictures are absolutely incredible. So obviously I knew she was the perfect choice. Before I connected with Erica, my Matron of Honor and I were already sending each other screenshots of Erica’s work. I reached out to her and felt an immediate connection. She answered my questions and reassured me of any concerns. We had a zoom call with my fiancé, who also became a huge fan of Erica. Erica asked such great questions to get to know us as people, and as a couple. She takes a genuine interest in getting to know you. And it turned out that we had some things in common, like certain TV shows. She also asked about our families, which is so important because no family is alike and every family has issues.

Erica gave great input and advice for our engagement session. My fiancé and I are both a little awkward when we’re the center of attention, so we were nervous for our engagement session. Erica has an innate ability to make anyone feel at ease, comfortable, and confident. Our engagement session could not have gone better, and we got a sneak peek of the pictures the very next day!

On the wedding day, Erica and her second photographer were both incredible. They both made everyone in our families, bridal party, and groomsmen feel comfortable. The very first thing Erica did was ask everyone’s pronouns, which made some people feel very seen and included.

Erica is very intuitive and has a great sense regarding family dynamics, always knowing what we needed when we took pictures with our families. When we went out onto the golf course to take pictures, again being the socially awkward couple that we are, my fiancé and I were a little nervous. Erica and her second photographer both made us feel so at ease.

We received a sneak peak of the pictures the next day, and they did not disappoint. Throughout the wedding, Erica checked in with us and made sure we were okay. She also took a beautiful picture of me dancing with my brother. Erica knew my brother’s story and how important it was that he was at the wedding. For her to remember that, and make sure I have a special picture of the moment, reflects her compassionate nature.

I want to say I was generally laid back throughout the wedding process and the wedding itself, but I do not think I could have gotten through it without Erica. The day after our wedding, my fiancé and I were both upset that our time with Erica was mostly over. So many of our guests raved about Erica after the wedding. We received all of our wedding pictures so quickly. We were not expecting them so fast. I would highly recommend Erica to anyone in need of a photographer. I could go on about how I feel about Erica. She is so genuine and her passion for her job shines through her work. Erica truly treats you like a person first before a client. She is such a strong, positive woman, and the world needs more people like her. I am incredibly grateful that I had the opportunity to work with her and get to know her.”
