Hollow Brook Golf Club Wedding // Caitlin + Dylan

Fall consistently shows out in the Hudson Valley, and the particular October that Caitlin and Dylan hosted their wedding at Hollow Brook Golf Club was particularly stunning. The foliage seemed to last for weeks; the sun stayed hazy and warm and whimsical. This wedding was gorgeous for its people, and gorgeous for its season.

THE COUPLE

Hearing my clients’ origin stories is one of my favorite things. How they met. What their first date was like. In all of my 14 years+ of being a wedding photographer, Caitlin and Dylan’s story of meeting was the most unique I’ve ever heard: they met playing Gaelic football. And I think that perfectly encapsulates who Caitlin and Dylan are - they’re driven and ambitious, excited about life and enjoy all things together. They and their families were a treat to spend time with on their wedding day; those 8 hours with them all truly felt like home.

THE VENUES

Caitlin and Dylan got married in a Catholic ceremony at St Patrick’s Old Stone Church in Yorktown Heights before heading over to Hollow Brook Golf Club for their reception. I love all weddings, and find that religious ones (whether Catholic, Jewish,or  any religion or belief system) are especially beautiful. Knowing that I am getting to witness a family’s most precious beliefs in action, their traditions on display, feels like a sacred gift.

St Patrick’s Old Stone Church is also one of my favorite churches to photograph. The outside is so beautiful and otherworldly with all of its stone, and the  inside feels intimate without being cramped. It also has the most gorgeous blue walls inside, which makes the space feel ethereal.

Hollow Brook Golf Club, where Caitlin and Dylan hosted their reception, is truly bar none in the lower Hudson Valley and Westchester area for amazing wedding venues. Its grounds boast the most beautiful locations for photos (I mean, just look at the sunset photos we created with Caitlin and Dylan!), and its staff are just incredible in every single way. I photograph a lot of weddings at Hollow Brook, but I never cease to be amazed at how fabulous of a venue it is, all around, in every respect.

THE DETAILS

Caitlin and Dylan chose lots of green motifs as a nod to their Irish heritage for their wedding details. Their invitation suite had touches of green, and their reception tables were decorated with forest green napkins and baby’s breath runners - which I personally loved. Their wedding party wore the same shade of green, which truly looked absolutely gorgeous against the late October foliage.

THE RECEPTION

Caitlin and Dylan had a beautiful, full, enjoyable, celebratory reception. It was all smiles and dancing and excitement - like every wedding reception should be.

When I think of dear days, I think of Caitlin, Dylan, their families, their meaningful church ceremony, and racing the sun to photograph the most beautiful documentation of their love on that late October day.

FROM THE COUPLE

“It's very clear that Erica does amazing work, but she is also an amazing person to work with! She was recommended to us by our venue, and was the first vendor that we officially hired. From our first zoom meeting, to our engagement shoot and then to our wedding day, Erica had such a calming presence that was very needed during the stressful wedding planning process. We had such confidence in her and her work, she was the last person that we needed to worry about on our wedding day.

We had so much fun going out onto the venue's grounds and taking our couples photos. Erica made us feel so good about ourselves that we felt like we could go book a modeling job afterwards.  Our photos were amazing and she worked so hard to make sure we had sneak peeks ready by the morning after our wedding.  We had the most amazing wedding day and Erica was able to capture all of that in her photos.

This was the easiest decision we made during our wedding planning process and we are so thankful for you, Erica!”
