Something that I desperately desire is to be funny. I mean, sometimes Iβm able to pull out some funny quips and sayings, but I feel that being the funniest person in a room is such a gift, and any time I meet someone funny, I just really want to be their friend (this has been true for forever, and is how I met my college bestie).
Kim is one of those people that is just funny. She has an excellent sense of humor, and brings such light and playfulness to any conversation and interaction. So, naturally, we got to work together because, like I mentioned, I will do anything to be able to hang out with people who are funny.
THE COUPLE
Kim + Dom have been together since they were young, and it was such a sweet thing to see their relationship turn into a marriage on a gorgeous September wedding day.
In addition to Kim + Domβs relationship, being able to witness the kinship between Kim, her mom, and her sisters was incredibly endearing. Being able to spend time in their amazing presence was a gift. Youβll see some of that precious kinship documented in the photos below. π
THE VENUE
Old Adriance Farm is unique in that it used to be an actual working farm, and still has some sweet little farm animals that inhabit it. The barn where you hold the reception is beautiful, but I find the prettiest part of the reception venue is the covered patio, where the light streams in during the reception. You can do anything you want with this space; Kim + Dom used it for their dance floor, but I have also seen it used as the reception space for other weddings, as well.
In addition to the reception space, Old Adriance has some gorgeous spots for sunset photos. The Hudson Valley has some of the most beautiful golden hours and sunsets I have ever seen, so to have access to places where you can see such beautiful end-of-the-day moments is a huge perk to getting married there.
THE DETAILS
Kim + Dom opted for burgundy-inspired details, as well as nods to a more rustic-chic aesthetic, with Kimβs beautiful lace gown. Pairing the burgundy tones with the red barn worked well, and tied in the entire color palette for the day.
THE RECEPTION
Kim + Dom love The Office, so naturally, their wedding party entered the reception to βForeverβ by Chris Brown.
They and their people danced, chatted, and just generally enjoyed the night. It was a precious, precious day. π
FROM THE COUPLE
I cannot say enough amazing things about Erica. It took me a while to write this review because I really can't put into words how wonderful Erica is. From the moment I met her, I knew I had to have her photograph my wedding! Not only is she super talented but she is one of the kindest souls I ever met. From the engagement photo shoot to our wedding day, everything with Erica ran so smoothly and she was such a pleasure to work with. When I told her I was still not set on a wedding venue she referred me to my venue and we instantly fell in love with it! She was there to help me with any wedding questions - even those that were not photography related.
Ericaβs photos turned out even more beautiful than I could have envisioned. She has such an eye for detail and you can see the passion she has for her photography through her work. When you work with Erica you aren't just hiring a photographer - you are gaining a friend. Erica is truly one of a kind, and we are so lucky to have had her for our wedding! I loved working with Erica and couldn't imagine my wedding without her!
