THE COUPLE
There is something so incredibly endearing about Christine and Lou. From the moment I met them, I felt like our hearts just matched. They were dog people, loved the outdoors, and were getting married in one of the most gorgeous locations in the Hudson Valley.
On the day of their wedding, Christine’s warm and even presence was an anchor; for someone getting married, she showed no nerves - just sweet anticipation. And Lou’s fun-loving personality was the perfect compliment to Christine’s soft demeanor. Their first look is one of the most beautiful and heartfelt I have ever captured.
From the beginning of the day to the end of the night, they were so good, so happy, so content, and so present. They were truly a joy to be around.
THE VENUE
Buttermilk Falls Inn and Spa is truly one of the most relaxing and beautiful places to host a wedding. Although it is easy to get to, and close to main roads, it is so peaceful and so quiet - truly an oasis.
From the moment you step on the property grounds, you feel at ease. And, while Christine and Lou chose to have their ceremony near the pond and their reception in the tent, there are multiple other options to choose from to host your wedding - they even have a cute barn available, right near their precious array of farm animals to spend time with.
THE DETAILS
Christine and Lou’s wedding details were soft and elegant, with a touch of autumn. Lots of warm tones. Lots of nods to how gorgeous fall is in the Hudson Valley.
One of my favorite details from their wedding was that Christine’s sister helped with all of the desserts. She baked the cake, and helped with setting up all of the yummy pies that rounded out the dessert table. I think it’s the sweetest thing when family can help in meaningful ways like this.
THE RECEPTION
While I love every part of a wedding day, there is always something so special about wedding receptions. The formalities are complete, the ceremony has made the marriage official, and now all that’s required is to PARTY - and, boy, could this group party. I felt like, every time I looked around, there were more snuggles, more dances, more toasts, more celebrations to photograph throughout the entire night. I am pretty sure my smile never left my face during the whole reception.
It was just a good, sweet day - all around.
FROM THE COUPLE
I do not know where to even begin when it comes to describing our phenomenal time with Erica. From the moment we booked, Erica was attentive, detail oriented, flexible with our crazy schedules, our biggest cheerleader, and the best calmer of nerves. She is beyond organized, and has the best advice on everything wedding-oriented. We truly felt like we were her top priority from the moment we booked. To say we picked the best wedding photographer for us is an understatement. Our second shooter was just as amazing. It felt as though we had known them both for years, and that we just had two old friends as photographers.
Erica’s eye for the small details, photo locations, angles, and lighting has given us photographs we LOVE and will cherish forever.
Not only would I absolutely recommend Erica for a couple’s big day – I’d say HURRY UP, she books up quick!
