I know I say I love all of my couples immensely. I say it often and emphatically, and while I do say that quite a lot, it’s never a lie. And Kerry and Rob are no exception. From the moment I met them, listened to their story of getting engaged in Massachusetts, learned about their careers, heard about their families, I knew I wanted to spend their entire Hollow Brook Golf Club wedding with them.

THE COUPLE

Kerry and Rob met the old fashioned way - in the basement of a local bar. Kerry is an ICU nurse (who also has experience in travel nursing - how amazing!), and Rob works in law enforcement. They’re in service professions, so it makes sense that they linked up. They’re sweet and endearing with one another - gentle, kind, and compassionate souls.

I still follow Kerry on Instagram, and am always blown away by her positivity. She sees the world in such a lovely way, acknowledging that life has challenges but that there is still a lot of beauty to be experienced.

THE VENUE

Hollow Brook Golf Club in Cortlandt, NY is one of my very favorite places to photograph weddings. In fact, I met a guest at a recent wedding elsewhere who told me that she will be getting married there next year, and I couldn’t stop gushing about how amazing of a location it is. From the incredible staff to the great food to the gorgeous photo locations on the property, it truly is the whole package. Some golf clubs can feel sterile because of their manicured courses that don’t offer too many options for variation in photo backgrounds - but that’s not Hollow Brook. You have so many different locations for images there that no two wedding galleries I’ve ever photographed there look the same.

THE DETAILS

The details were important to Kerry and Rob, especially as they handmade most of the reception decor (amazing!). They chose a peachy pink for the bridesmaids gowns, while the groomsmen wore gray. Kerry carried two things with her that day that were incredibly meaningful - a small brooch containing a photo of her recently-passed mother, and a jeweled pin as her something blue.

Kerry and Rob chose to use their florals in somewhat unique ways - opting for a cascading bouquet (I truly love these - they are so gorgeous) and a circular ceremony arch beautifully decorated with flowers.

The decor on their tables alternated between high and low centerpieces, surrounded by twinkle lights, giving the entire room an ethereal and romantic quality.

THE RECEPTION

Kerry and Rob’s reception featured lots of dancing, lots of love, and ended with one of the most adorable sparkler exits of all time.

What an amazing, beautiful, incredible, endearing day this was. Kerry and Rob, you are so easy to love.

She is the ONLY reason I was able to calm down. She also came to the rescue when my dress had a button malfunction and needed to be stitched up; she kept everyone calm and even had a sewing kit.

There is just something so special about her and it just shines through her and her work. Hiring her was worth every single penny! We can’t thank her enough.”
