I drive a lot for what I do, and miles spent in the car often become miles of reminiscing. On long drives, I often think about Allison and Max’s wedding journey. We got to photograph their engagement session in Pennsylvania, where I got to see Allison’s hometown, and meet their adorable pup. Their engagement session felt light and homey - a feeling that flowed through and into their wedding day a little less than a year later, on a warm July afternoon.

THE COUPLE

Allison and Max met during college, and got engaged on a hike with their cute dog. They love spending time with their families, traveling, and exploring the outdoors.

The main goal they had for their wedding was that they wanted it to feel exciting and inclusive for everyone in attendance. The party was for them, but also for their wonderful people.

THE VENUE

Sadly, Allison and Max’s wedding venue, FEAST at Round Hill, recently closed after several years of hosting weddings. One of the prettiest things about FEAST was its unique garden spaces which were lovely when in bloom. The outdoor ceremony space was also a nice feature of this venue.

If you are looking for an outdoorsy wedding venue in the Washingtonville, NY area, you may want to consider Blooming Hill Farm instead, which is just a stone’s throw away (literally a 3-minute drive!) from FEAST’s location.

THE DETAILS

Allison and Max chose light shades of blue and green as the main color scheme for their wedding. It was a stunning color palette to photograph - especially the powder blue shade, which was woven throughout so much of their day.

Allison and Max signed a ketubah prior to their outdoor ceremony, and it was one of the most beautiful wedding documents I have ever seen. Their sisters also wore blue floral dresses, which were absolutely stunning, and photographed so well in portraits.

THE RECEPTION

Allison and Max’s reception was just as darling as the rest of their day - it was filled with meaningful parent dances, beautiful excitement, sweet toasts. Like Allison and Max themselves, their day, their people, their wedding was just precious.

Allison and Max, whenever I see powder blue hydrangeas, I think of you and smile.

“From our first meeting with Erica we knew we had to work with her. She was kind, patient, and prepared. She answered all our questions and put us at ease, not only about our photos but about our wedding as a whole. We were drawn to her photos because they featured natural, bright colors and felt organic.

Leading up to the wedding she sent us thoughtful gifts and notes, truly making us feel included in her world. We did an engagement session with her about 8 months before the wedding which I would highly recommend. It helped us feel at ease in front of the camera and allowed us to try out different poses we would do on our wedding day. Erica was a cheerleader and went out of her way so we could get some family photos with our dog. We had a meeting about a month before the wedding where she was very understanding regarding changing family dynamics.

The day of the wedding Erica and her second photographer arrived early, and we walked through different locations where we wanted photos. It felt like a very collaborative experience. She was very professional and supportive of all the nerves and anxiety surrounding our wedding day. She worked really well with our other vendors, which was very important to us. The guests raved about how great the photographers were, and loved the candids and posed photos they took of them.

After the wedding Erica sent us sneak peaks the next day and delivered our final gallery weeks ahead of schedule. We love all our photos and have struggled to pick favorites. Working with Sweet Alice Photography was a phenomenal experience that we would recommend to anyone. We hope to work with her in the future as we celebrate more milestones together!”
