When I think about Tara + Stephen’s Hollow Brook Golf Club wedding, it’s all lace and smiles and laughter and comfort. It’s Tara smiling at Stephen to keep him comfortable. It’s Stephen responding to her offers of comfort with his sweet easygoingness.

It’s a beautiful August day, and it’s all kindness and ease.

THE COUPLE

Tara + Stephen met on their first day of college at SUNY Oneonta. Tara described herself as “the girl next door” during their college years - because she literally lived next door to him in their dorms. Clearly, it was fate. ✨

Something that has always impressed me with Tara + Stephen is how well they “fit.” At so many wedding days, and for so many couples, I think to myself, “These two are a good match.”

THE VENUE

When I consider a quintessential Hollow Brook Golf Club wedding, I immediately think of Tara + Stephen’s gorgeous August wedding day. Although they got married in a nearby church, almost all of their portraits were taken at Hollow Brook in all of the best spots - on the long bridge over the water, in the overgrown mini field, and in the creek bed.

Yes, I stood in the water for those creek photos.

Yes, I had to take my shoes off and my pants got a little damp.

Yes, it was worth it.

THE DETAILS

Tara + Stephen chose a muted monochromatic color scheme for their wedding, primarily relying on whites, blacks, and grays. It was elegant, but still fit well with the rustic backdrop that Hollow Brook provides.

They also went with a hint of a garden theme for their reception decor and favors. I don’t know about you, but when I’m a guest at a wedding and I’m able to bring home a plant as a favor, I consider that to be a very good day. 🪴

THE RECEPTION

All I remember from Tara + Stephen’s wedding reception is the feeling of pure joy and letting loose. Everyone was on the dance floor. Everyone was smiling. Everyone was just enjoying the evening, and isn’t that such a perfect end to a wedding day?

Honestly, I’ll never get over this wedding day. It was just too perfect, primarily because of the souls that created it.

Tara + Stephen, I think of you and your sweet day often. It was a good one. ✨
