It’s no secret that I photograph a lot of weddings at Hollow Brook Golf Club, but it’s not often that I get to photograph weddings there back-to-back; however, on this glorious May weekend, I photographed a wedding there on Saturday, and then Christine and Sinjin’s wedding the following Sunday.
This day was lush, green, fun, relaxed - it was everything that I believe anyone could ever hope for on their wedding day.
THE COUPLE
Christine and Sinjin were one of those dear couples that had to rethink their original 2021 wedding plans when the pandemic occurred. While I worked with so many of my other couples through this weird time of rescheduling and replanning, Christine and Sinjin were totally new to me for their 2022 wedding day; however, I truly believe that nothing that’s for you will pass you, and happily noted that, when Christine inquired to be able to work together for her new wedding date, it was the second time she had reached out! We weren’t able to work together when she first inquired a year prior because I was already booked for her date, but these new 2022 plans brought her and Sinjin so joyously back to me.
Christine and Sinjin are both physical therapists, and met while in school together. We took their engagement photos on the day they chose to elope in 2021, and then got to flow together into their big wedding celebration a year later.
Something that has always struck me about Christine and Sinjin is how playful and spunky they are. Christine laughed through all of our photos together; she has an inviting grin that makes you want to be her friend. She and Sinjin seem to share a secret language in the joy they share together. They emanate positive energy.
THE VENUE
Hollow Brook Golf Club is simply one of the best venues in the Hudson Valley. You have all heard me gush about it before, but here are the cliffs notes for you:
The location is gorgeous and convenient for guests; easy to get to if they’re coming from either NYC or the Hudson Valley
The staff is incredible, and keep the comfort and happiness of their couples at the forefront all day
The grounds are stunning, and give you a ton of varied options for photos
I was at Hollow Brook Golf Club the day before Christine and Sinjin’s wedding, and even though it was the same location two days in a row, everything still felt new and fresh. There are just so many options there that things never have to be duplicated if you don’t want them to be.
THE DETAILS
Christine and Sinjin chose a blush pink and white aesthetic for their wedding day. It was such a beautiful homage to spring, and felt so flowy and romantic. Sinjin also wore a patterned pink floral tie which I loved. The added elements to their day were minimal and simplistic; more than anything, they just wanted to celebrate with their people after waiting so long to host this incredible event.
THE RECEPTION
Christine and Sinjin hosted their reception as the sun was setting; all of the light flowed into the windows at Hollow Brook and gave the affair a nostalgic feel. Everyone laughed and giggled as their family and friends made meaningful and humorous toasts. And then they all danced the night away.
Christine and Sinjin’s wedding feels like a colorful May dream. What a treat it was to be there on that magical day.
FROM THE COUPLE
“Erica, we cannot thank you enough. You made the day more incredible and easy for me. You made me feel beautiful and captured all the happiness we felt. Thank you to your second photographer who was just as fabulous. The sneak peek photos are AMAZING. I can’t wait to see the rest of them.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
