Ohhhhh, where do I even begin with Gabby and Alex, and how perfectly wonderful and precious and special and important they are? I’ve known Gabby for over a decade now (what even?!), and getting to photograph her marriage to Alex at Hiland Park Country Club was one of the biggest gifts of my life.

THE COUPLE

Gabby and I used to work together at her alma mater, and I distinctly remember the first time I met Alex. Gabby told me they were just friends but I could so obviously see how much Alex adored her, just from that one moment, years and years ago. I wasn’t surprised when they started dating, wasn’t surprised when they got engaged, wasn’t surprised when they got married - it all felt good and right and like everything aligned for these two good souls to find and be with each other forever. They’re warm and fun and have great senses of humor; they’re generous and happy and ambitious. To be around them is like being around a disco ball - all sparkle and light.

THE VENUE

Hiland Park Country Club in Queensbury, NY, is truly an incredible venue. The grounds outside offer a lot of options for photos, either on the golf course or in front of the venue. But what’s really special about this location is its indoor amenities. While most venues only have one wedding suite, Hiland Park Country Club boasts two, so that both partners have designated areas to get ready. The venue itself is spacious and large, with lots of natural light, in both the cocktail hour and reception room. The staff do an amazing job of coordinating every wedding there, and guests always rave about the location! Hiland Park Country Club also has an amazing spot for golden hour and sunset photos, located right outside of the back of the venue. It’s easy to get to, and offers an open and unobstructed view of the sky.

Gabby and Alex chose to host their wedding ceremony at a nearby church, but you can also host your ceremony on the venue grounds, if you would like.

THE DETAILS

Gabby and Alex are two souls who understand elegance. They chose soft hues of green, gold, white, and lilac to decorate their day. They also paid tribute to Gabby’s sister, Gina, in saving her a designated seat and crafting a bouquet for her so that she could be there in spirit. Gabby’s gown was elegant and ethereal, lacey, and flowed beautifully for photos.

THE RECEPTION

Gabby and Alex’s reception was the cutest, with lots of heartfelt toasts, lots of emotions, and lots of dancing. It felt warm and exciting and special and important.

Gabby and Alex, I’m still beyond thankful that I got to share this day with you. It was - and you are - everything good. 🥰

“Alex & I knew as soon as we started wedding planning (even when we got engaged!), we wanted Erica to be our photographer. She is not only incredibly kind & has the sweetest soul, but she truly cares about the couples she works with. I've known Erica for 10+ years & strongly believe she is one of the nicest, most talented individuals.

The entire process working with Erica was incredibly simple & stress free. She helped us create timelines & with other wedding planning items that came up throughout - she always had the most helpful answers (or templates!). She helped us find our videographer as well :)

Erica made us feel extremely comfortable at our engagement shoot & then again on our wedding day. She provided guidance, support & hyped us up even more during our photos. She made sure during our wedding to capture all of the moments we spoke about and more. Erica has been a part of my life for years & to have her capture our wedding day is something I will forever cherish. Debbie, Erica's second shooter was also spectacular and made sure we didn't miss anything on the big day.

I can't rave enough about how much we (but we already know that) & our guests, parents, bridal party all loved Erica on our wedding day. She also provided us our photos & they are true perfection. The lighting, angles, positions - truly everything, we can't stop looking at them.
