Sharing in Sam and Brenden’s wedding journey was a delight. From the moment I met them, I was captivated. Their warmth and humor is so adorable; and, they’re both incredibly driven and extremely relatable. They’re small business owners (Sam owns a beauty studio, and Brenden is a fellow photographer), so getting to “talk shop” with them during their engagement session was a treat.

When I left their wedding day, I just felt good. The day felt whole and complete; precious and like a breath of fresh air. And I think that’s because of how lovely everyone on this wedding day was.

THE COUPLE

Sam and Brenden have been together since they were in high school. They balance each other out so well, with Sam always aware of the details, and Brenden always willing to go with the flow. It’s clear that they have both grown up and grown together in how dearly they regard each other.

There was a threat of rain throughout their entire wedding day, and intense winds coming off of the water; Sam was understandably a little nervous about this, but Brenden kept calmly and kindly reassuring her. Sam is treasured to Brenden, and it’s evident in everything he does with and for her.

THE VENUE

Glen Island Harbour Club in New Rochelle, NY is a beautiful wedding venue located within Glen Island Park, right on the waterfront. It boasts several different ceremony and reception locations within the venue, giving you great options to accommodate any type of party. You can see the water from just about any spot inside the venue, so if you want an oceanside wedding, this venue may be a great option.

Due to the unpredictable weather on Sam and Brenden’s wedding day, we primarily photographed portraits directly outside the venue and utilized some unique spaces inside; however, since the venue is on the Glen Island Park property, you also have access to the park if you would like to take portraits elsewhere.

THE DETAILS

Sam and Brenden chose a warm color palette featuring orange and pink-hued florals, and a wedding party dressed in navy and red.

Sam and Brenden are animal-lovers, and so named their signature cocktails after their pups - the cutest detail!

THE RECEPTION

Sam and Brenden’s reception was all party and joy. It was mostly adorable toasts and emphatic dancing, but my very favorite moment of the night was when the DJ played a song that was important to Sam’s family, and her parents and sister crushed around her, dancing in a big hug.

What a precious, precious day.
